Scarsdale Medical Diet Reviewed
What is the Scarsdale Diet?
The Scarsdale Medical Diet is a low fat, low calories weight loss system that
was designed by Scarsdale, New York physician Herman Tarnower. "The Complete
Scarsdale Medical Diet" was also written as a guide to follow and provide
information on this diet plan. This web site was also created as a full resource
site to the Scarsdale Diet and how it works.
How Strict Are The Menus On
The Scarsdale Diet?
Strict and rigid are two words you tend to hear from people commenting on the
Scarsdale Diet's menu plans. In fact, many people have shied away from the diet
due to the fear that they might not be able to live up to its daily eating
requirements. In truth, while the diet does establish many hard-and-fast rules
for your meals, wouldn't you rather work through it for two weeks and receive
your desired weight loss rather than flounder around hoping for the next miracle
pill?
Making Changes
The Scarsdale Diet works best when followed to the letter. While some changes
may be permitted, it really just distracts from your main goal. Isn't the
purpose of going on a diet to lose weight? Instead of worrying about how to make
the next two weeks a canvas for your creativity, try using it as a measure for
your resolve. Making changes is tempting but you're only hurting yourself in the
end.
Plenty of dieters take liberties with their eating programs and the same is true
for those under the Scarsdale Diet as with any other system. With Scarsdale, in
particular, we've seen people switch lunch meals to dinner and vice versa,
substitute Wednesday meals with Friday eating plans and over-eat one day then
under-eat the next. While these may seem benign, they do affect the way the diet
works. Especially important is your mindset when making these changes which
pretty much turns the diet into a game you can creatively cheat your way into,
instead of a means to actively improve your physical health.
With that said, not all changes to the Scarsdale Diet menus are bad. If you
really find the meals bland, try using the same ingredients for each and
preparing them differently. For instance, instead of eating the tuna and
vegetables separately, you can cook them as one dish, adding in the allowed
condiments for better taste. As long as you stick with the recommended
ingredients and don't add anything, it should be fine.
